Flower in the Sun

Last weekend my wife and I went to Oklahoma City for some friends’ wedding. While there, we spent one morning going out to some museums that I remember visiting with my Grandpa when I was much younger. While at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, this flower really stood out to me. It was a rather overcast morning, but when I approached this lone flower, the sun came out and really made this one pop in the light. I hope you all enjoy!

  1. That is the Oklahoma state flower, Gaillardia pulchella, or the Indian Blanket Flower. 🙂 I have always loved them; they grew wild in my parents’ yard when I was a kid. Your photos are rapidly dominating my screensaver. 😉

  2. It is a beautiful flower Daniel. I love the red and yellow and it is wonderful to know what kind of flower it is. Loved reading that your photos are appreciated so much, too. I, of course, always enjoy them very much.
