Weekly Photo Challenge: Masterpiece

I have to say, there is nothing like a Kansas Sunset. They are masterpieces, each day something new, something breathtaking. Enjoy.

Relaxing Reflection

Today, we had a good friend graduate from High School. As we were coming back from the graduation, my wife and I decided to take a trip to a place we use to go years ago while we were dating. This area is near Wakarusa, Kansas. There is a low-water crossing, which has some very pretty views and is a perfect place to relax for a bit. I took this picture, and just had to share. Hope you all enjoy!

Big Spring Reflection

Scott County State Lake is a beautiful area of Western Kansas. Trees, old Pueblo ruins, springs, trees, and great scenery are all around. Big Spring is one of the springs that feed the main lake, giving a clean look and some great contrasts for photos. This tree’s reflection really caught my eye, along with the bright blue sky and the different colors of grass that was growing around. Hope you all enjoy!

Golfing weather soon will be here….

I love the cold and the snow. But now that we’ve had a couple of big snows and the weather man is predicting weather in the 60s by the end of the week, my thoughts have turned towards outdoor activities, namely golf. I am ready for some shorts and short-sleeved-shirt weather, along with hitting the links with my friends. Hope you enjoy the photo for today!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

In September of 2012, my wife’s family and I went to Hermann, MO, where I saw my first ever Civil War Re-enactment ever. It was a lot of fun, complete with cannons, cavalry, muskets, as well as many artisans showing skills and stories from that time in our nation’s history. For this weekly photo challenge, this photo stood out to me, as a lone southern cavalry charged the oncoming union troops as they were advancing. It was a very sad time in our nation’s history, but one that marked a major turning point towards working towards equality for all. Hopefully, we will not ever repeat this, and continue to strive for equality for all people, no matter their race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or any difference. For THAT is truly moving forward, and it is our differences that make us all the stronger.
