Last weekend my wife and I went to Oklahoma City for some friends’ wedding. While there, we spent one morning going out to some museums that I remember visiting with my Grandpa when I was much younger. While at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, this flower really stood out to me. It was a rather overcast morning, but when I approached this lone flower, the sun came out and really made this one pop in the light. I hope you all enjoy!
Bright Flower in the Sun
Today was quite sunny in Kansas. Then we started getting some clouds rolling in. So, my wife and I jumped into the car and headed out for pictures. The clouds broke up as we were driving past this pasture with a lone tree against the horizon, so I had to take the photo. I thought the B&W made it much more interesting. What do you think?
Lone Tree on a Sunny Day
On this one, I am having a tough time deciding which one I prefer. I think I have decided that Monument Rocks are stunning in BOTH color as well as Black & White. Either way, I really enjoyed the rays of the sun peeking around the rocks to greet the World. What do you think?

Monument Rocks Peeking Sun
As I’m sure you know by now, I was completely impressed with this trip to Monument Rocks. They area series of Chalk Formations with lots of fossils throughout the soil. This gives them a very light appearance, and with the shadows and the sun, made for some interesting contrasts for the Black & White Photos. Just for size comparison, some of these are over 60 feet high. Hope you enjoy!
Monument Rocks B&W Panorama
We are having an unseasonably warm winter, just like much of the rest of the nation. Today it was sunny and 63 degrees, with a cold front moving in this evening. As the cold front started making its way into the area, the sun began playing hide-and-seek through the clouds, making for some stunning sunbeams and light patterns. I took this photo just south of Perry, KS with my cell phone, so is not even close to as good as I would like, but had to stop, take the photo, and share. Enjoy!
