Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning (Number 2)

This is the first time I have done multiple “Weekly Photo Challenge” pictures for the same one. But this was too good to pass up. I took this photo the morning of January 15, 2013, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, overlooking Lake Michigan. The colors were awesome, and the ball of fire that was rising seemed only a figment of my imagination, being as how January in Wisconsin was so cold. But it was a beautiful site to behold. I hope you all enjoy!

Kansas Sunrises are beautiful, too

My wife might never truly know, because you won’t find her awake that early (unless she is forced, and even then she might be dozing). I had the fortunate opportunity to travel to Western Kansas last week, and took this photo of the fiery sunrise on the morning of September 11, 2013. What a way to show how each day is new, even a day with as horrific events as happened on 9/11. This photo made me stop and think about how truly beautiful our World is, and that we should enjoy every minute of each day that we have. Enjoy the beauty around us. Hope you all enjoy this photo!

Unkempt Horse

We had a big cold front come through on Monday, February 18. The clouds came rolling in, and the sunrise was amazing. I got out and was taking pictures, and this horse looked at me as though to say “It’s getting cold out here… Take me with you.” I realized at that moment I could not take him anywhere, especially since he had not even bothered to comb his hair. How absurd that he would think I would take him out looking like that!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Illuminate

I got a new job. I started this past Monday, which has added to my lack of posting. But I think I might just be able to get back into the swing of things. At least for a while. So for my new job, I went to Mequon, WI for training. That area is beautiful, especially if you can take some time to run out to Port Washington, WI. It’s a smaller town, but right on the shore of Lake Michigan. There are many overlooks, and the town is very quaint, and very inviting to visitors. I went up there on the morning of January 15, and captured the sunrise. This is one of the almost 60 photos I took that morning, but I loved the red sky, the darker clouds, and the beam of light, reaching across the lake as though to begin waking up the sleepy little town. The morning was quite cold, but viewing the sky ablaze with the rising sun was warming to the soul. What a great start to the day! Hope you all enjoy!

One foggy day…

I was driving to work one morning, and passed this field where the steam was rising off of the water in the pond, with the sun behind the tree. The lighting on the pond made me think of a glowing cauldron, which makes me then think of Halloween. Since we are nearing that time of year, I thought I might share. Enjoy!
