The saying goes “You can’t judge a tiger by his stripes”. However, I can judge a tiger by his teeth. And they tell me to not get too close. This week’s photo challenge is From Lines to Patterns. Tigers fit into both categories, with their lines making up their patterns, which allow them to effectively hunt and survive. This one really struck me, I hope you enjoy it too!
Omaha Zoo Tiger
Last year, my wife and I went to Omaha, Nebraska, for a weekend trip with a couple of our friends for a birthday. While we were there, we visited the Zoo. Omaha has a wonderful zoo, so if you’re ever in that area, make sure to stop and visit. This lizard was sitting on a log, basking in the warm light and just chilling out. Enjoy!
Omaha Zoo Lizard
I love zoos. Sure, seeing the animals in their natural habitat is better, but how many people would get to see some of the more exotic animals if it weren’t for the zoos? One of my bucket list items is to go on a photography safari in Africa. But that’s going to take a while to get to that point. So, here we are at the zoo. The zoo in St. Louis, MO is beautiful. This polar bear was swimming around in circles, and he kept wiping his eyes with his paw. It made it seem that he was quite at home in the zoo.
I took this photo with our old point and shoot camera, so the quality isn’t quite as good. I guess another trip with my Nikon D5000 is in the works… 🙂
